Thomas Jacks is continuing to expand and we are looking for the right person to fulfil the newly created role of Purchasing and Shipping Co-Ordinator. Our products are imported and exported globally so experience of customs, licencing and compliance procedures is essential to be able to fulfil this role. You will be handling shipping related requirements as well as monitoring and reporting on stock levels, maintaining key product information and assisting in product procurement.
You will need to be a personable and proactive individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills that can work independently and within a team when necessary. You will have an analytical mindset, be willing to learn and be able to consistently perform under pressure to meet deadlines.
Diligence, conscientiousness and attention to detail are highly regarded qualities at Thomas Jacks and will be particularly important in this role.

Job Description: Managing and completing all international import and export processes and procedures to ensure shipments arrive seamlessly while making certain we always remain compliant.
Chasing and checking all shipping related documents for accuracy and completeness, tracking product under special customs procedures such as temporary imports/exports (i.e. samples, faulty products, etc) or inward/outward processing to comply with deadlines or restrictions.
Applying for import and export licences where appropriate, ensuring we have the correct approvals for all controlled movements of goods and reporting to the relevant authorities where necessary. Monitoring stock levels and reporting real and potential requirements to relevant stakeholders.
Placing orders and communicating with suppliers, updating our systems with delivery dates and relevant supplier information such as pricing and product certification.
Communicating any perceived issues in the supply chain to minimise potential supply problems. Communicating with couriers and hauliers to maintain the best possible rates and service levels.
Determining the most appropriate shipment methods depending on the commodity, location, volume, or urgency of requirement and communicating this to suppliers. Chasing suppliers and service providers to ensure shipments are received as scheduled and all critical deadlines can be met.
