Title: Technical Support Advisor

Department: Service Support

Reports to: Support Manager

Direct Reports: None

Based at: Apex House, Timothy ' s Bridge Road, Stratford-Upon-Avon

Job Purpose: To provide electronic, technical and administrative support and to assist in the test and inspection of all consumer product including night vision, thermal imaging, optical systems and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, record and update the product service system (R.M.A.)
  • Receiving, documenting, recording and despatching product returns
  • Prepare manufacturer returns and test manufacturer repaired product
  • Assist with product spare part sales & supply
  • Assist with technical queries (when appropriately trained)
  • Assist in new product testing (when appropriately trained)
  • Test and assist with minor repairs of products (when appropriately trained)

Person Profile:

  • An appropriate level of technical knowledge and IT skills
  • Strong analysis & analytical thinking skills with practical problem-solving abilities
  • Good customer service / communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a passion for precision and excellence
  • Willing to engage in a wide range of projects and support as appropriate
  • A team player with the ability to work on their own under instruction


  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent
  • Preferably holding a Level 1 C&G or BTEC electronics qualification
  • Good knowledge of electronics is desirable but not essential
  • Interest / experience in the use and application of electronic systems and related technologies would be advantageous

Title: Purchasing and Shipping Co-Ordinator

Department: Operations

Reports to: Managing Director

Based at: Apex House, Timothy ' s Bridge Road, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire

Job Purpose: Handling all shipping related requirements (i.e. customs, licencing, compliance, etc), monitoring and reporting stock levels, maintaining key product information & assisting in product procurement.

Job Description: Managing and completing all international import and export processes and procedures to ensure shipments arrive seamlessly while making certain we always remain compliant.

Chasing and checking all shipping related documents for accuracy and completeness, tracking product under special customs procedures such as temporary imports/exports (i.e. samples, faulty products, etc) or inward/outward processing to comply with deadlines or restrictions.

Applying for import and export licences where appropriate, ensuring we have the correct approvals for all controlled movements of goods and reporting to the relevant authorities where necessary. Monitoring stock levels and reporting real and potential requirements to relevant stakeholders.

Placing orders and communicating with suppliers, updating our systems with delivery dates and relevant supplier information such as pricing and product certification.

Communicating any perceived issues in the supply chain to minimise potential supply problems. Communicating with couriers and hauliers to maintain the best possible rates and service levels.

Determining the most appropriate shipment methods depending on the commodity, location, volume, or urgency of requirement and communicating this to suppliers. Chasing suppliers and service providers to ensure shipments are received as scheduled and all critical deadlines can be met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtaining, processing, and creating documents and processes for imports and exports
  • Managing customs clearances
  • Co-ordinating and monitoring shipments
  • Liaising with couriers, freight companies and suppliers
  • Maintaining product master data including commodity codes, control list classifications, country of origin and tariff rates
  • Monitoring and maintaining stock levels
  • Placing orders with manufacturers, monitoring delivery schedules
  • Communicate any changes to relevant stakeholders
